Are you looking for a great way to spend your family port day in Cozumel? We love sailing with our extended family. The laughs we share, and the memories we make are priceless. But, planning activities for a multi-generational cruise port day can be challenging! The kids want lots of action, parents want to relax, and grandparents want to spend quality time with family.
We have been to Cozumel several times and have enjoyed time with family at both Chankanaab Park and Nachi Cocom Beach Resort. Both offered good experiences for multi-generational cruise port days, but a few years ago we were ready to try something new.
Always looking to explore and try a new activity while in port we decided to check out Paradise Beach. Now, Paradise Beach has become a favorite and I recently updated this post with new information in 2023.
In this post, I will share with you 5 things that make Paradise Beach a great option for a family cruise port day in Cozumel.
1. Pricing Options for Paradise Beach the “Exclusive – All Inclusive”
The EXCLUSIVE ALL-INCLUSIVE includes:
- Access to our beach, heated pool, and pier
- Lounge chairs & umbrellas
- All you can eat & drink from the menu all day long! (Includes alcoholic drinks and taco truck. Excludes bottles of liquor, wine, and champagne) You can view their full menu here
- Bathrooms, changing rooms & freshwater showers
If you don’t feel that the all-inclusive option is appropriate for your eating and drinking style, you can pay as little as $20 per person with the a la carte option. There is a flat entrance fee of $10 per person and a $10 minimum food or beverage purchase. This entrance fee gives you access to the pool, beach, facilities, shopping, etc.
You can make reservations and check your travel date for seasonal prices on their website:
Important notes straight from Paradise Beach staff: Reservations are not available for the a la carte option and limited space is available on first come, first served basis. Additionally, your taxi driver will ask you if you have a reservation. If you say no, they will likely tell you t hat it’s full, even if space is available.
2. Large Food & Beverage Selection
You may be in Mexico, but my kids are still going to want a slice of pizza or a cheeseburger. There’s just no getting around it. So, I was happy to see that they have a selection of the food options most kids will want.
For those that want to enjoy a few Mexican favorites, there is plenty to choose from as well.
There is even a taco truck and a mojito truck on site!
You can dine at one of the two restaurants, or the friendly staff will deliver anything you’d like right to your pool lounger.
During this visit, we decided to skip the all-inclusive option, but the a la carte pricing was quite reasonable. For reference, our final bill was just under $100 for our food and drinks throughout the day. Our server was exceptional. We changed locations from the pool to the beach and back to the pool and he didn’t miss a beat. We just let him know we were changing spots and he continued his excellent service.

3. Variety of Activities
As much as I love the beach, I appreciate a resort-style pool! Paradise Beach has the best resort pool I have seen in Cozumel. They claim to have the largest heated pool in Cozumel, and I believe it! Even in the early afternoon, when it became more crowded, it was still quite comfortable.
Paradise Beach also offers a Fun Pass which I think is a fantastic option for multi-generational cruise port plans. If our teenagers want to get the fun pass and spend time out on the water inflatables they can, we can head out in the kayaks and the grandparents can enjoy their shady spot on the beach.
The FUN PASS is an additional $15 USD per person and can be added on arrival. It includes unlimited playtime with our famous water park, kayaks, water hammocks, snorkel gear, and stand-up paddle boards. There are occasional promotions on the website, so check their site before your trip.
Additional Offerings: (prices subject to change)
- When booking the Exclusive All-Inclusive – the Fun Pass is only an additional $10 usd per person, and you will receive discounted prices on all these activities (all activities can be added on arrival):
- Wave runners: $50 usd for 1/2 hour (reg price: $70 usd for 1/2)
- Parasailing: $50usd per person (reg price: $65usd per person)
- Banana boat: $10usd (reg price $15usd per person)
- Massage: $30usd for 30 mins or $60usd for 60 mins (reg price: $45usd for 30 mins or $80usd for 60 mins)
4. Facilities at Paradise Beach
This resort for a day offers all of the facilities critical to families. There are plenty of clean restrooms, freshwater showers, and lockers available. If you’ve read any of my other posts, you already know that I always research the facilities. Gross bathrooms are never on my vacation wish list!

5. Plenty of Sun & Shade
The goal of a family vacation is to spend quality time together, right? One thing we always consider when planning an extended family cruise port day is access to shade.
Finding shade is typically easy at a resort, but sometimes it comes with a trade-off. It’s not as fun when members of the family have to sit apart from the action so that they can be in the shade.
Paradise Beach offered multiple lounge/seating areas in the sun or shade. There were shady spots around the pool and at the large beach area. So, you could sit in the shade while your kids play in the pool!
Tip: Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis so head to Paradise early!
Bonus! Wifi is included
Yes, kids…there’s WiFi. 😉
I tease about the teens needing their WiFi, but sometimes adults are just as dependent on it as the kids. I enjoy posting a few pics to Instagram, posting in our Facebook Cruise Group, or messaging a friend back home. Whether you like to snap chat through your day or completely unplug, it’s your vacation!
