Call me lazy…or call me obsessed, but I love getting perfect cruise items from Amazon – especially Amazon Prime. There are so many great deals and perfect cruise items available.
While you might have seen the huge lists of cruise items from Amazon before, I have compiled a list of my favorite items that I actually use on every cruise.

Organizing Paperwork – Talk about fun with a label maker! This accordion folder is slim but holds all of your check-in paperwork, cruise port plans and research, and even receipts. It’s also durable enough that I can store any purchased photos or other flat souvenirs safely for the trip home.
SONO Wipes – Ok you germ killers out there, this one is for you! The first thing I do when we arrive in our stateroom is to grab these wipes. I wipe down the door handles, the T.V. remote, the phone, the light switches, the faucet, and the toilet flusher.
I also use these wipes on the tray table, seatbelt, and armrests on our plane ride to our embarkation port, too! These are medical grade but will not irritate your skin.
Updated 2023 – This individually wrapped option is great for port days and travel days.
USB Charging Hub – If you have teens please don’t leave home without this! We have the Key Power in white.
Check out this post for a full list of my Cruise Cabin Prep items.
Poo Pouri – Sharing a bathroom. I don’t think I need to say anything more. 😉 There’s a scent called “Ship Happens”. Seriously, I’m not making this up.
LiquiSnugs or GoToob– I like to bring my favorite shampoo and conditioner from home. These are less wasteful than buying travel-size items and then tossing them at the end of your trip. The GoTubb is great, too.
Strong Hooks – I love these hooks! We use them to hang up hats, lanyards, towels, and our customized itinerary. (subscribe for access to all of my printables) Tip – I store my hooks in a reusable soap container. This keeps them from snagging on other items once they are out of their package.
Are any of these on your must-have cruise items from Amazon?
Lanyard – I have switched to this one by Vera Bradley because it does not require a hole punch to use. Some of the new ship cards can’t be hole punched.
This one also has a slim zipper pouch that I can use to carry a credit card or a small amount of cash. I like to tip bartenders a little extra in cash when we receive great service!
Curious about what I keep with me on Embarkation Day? It’s all here.
Excursion Backpack – I have the Oriccson lightweight packable backpack and Brian uses the Venture Pal. The Venture Pal is a little more expensive than the Oriccson but it’s included in Prime. This new version also has a wet zipper pocket which his old one does not have!
We have used these on our last 4 cruises and they are still going strong. Both are super lightweight, have tons of pockets, and come in lots of fun colors. And…for you moms out there…it’s REALLY nice for everyone to carry their OWN STUFF!
Be sure and check out my complete list of Tourist Day Bag Essentials.
Water Bottle – Now, this is where I splurge.d I LOVE my Yeti Rambler with bottle chug cap. Just remember how inexpensive the other items on this list are when you check out this item because it’s pricey.
In my opinion, it is SO worth it. I drink a ton of water and hate to buy single-use plastic water bottles. This Yeti also provides a cool drink of water in the middle of the night.
I fill this up in the buffet or cafe and I’m good for a day of exploring. The handle on the lid is also extremely comfortable to carry for long periods of time. However… a little hint…it does fit into the side pouch of the excursion backpack just mentioned.
Pack Towel – I love this microfiber towel by Youphoria Outdoors. Order the large size which is nearly 6′ x 3′. It’s so easy to pack, rolls up tight, and has multiple uses. I have used this as a cover for my legs in a chilly restaurant, a pillow on a long bus tour, and of course, as a towel at the beach or while snorkeling. Yes, of course, you can bring a pool towel from the ship. But, this is less bulky to carry and dries quickly!
If you have kids, consider ordering everyone their own color. You will eliminate the argument of who left their towel behind. This pack towel has also come in handy to dry seats after a rain shower or when there aren’t any hand driers in the washrooms. It’s just handy to have around!
Rain Poncho – Ok, while NOT the most fashionable item available, this rain poncho certainly saved our gear in St. Thomas! It started pouring as we debarked the ship. We had a ferry to catch and we weren’t willing to wait out the rain.
This is such a small and easy item to tuck into your excursion bag for those quick Caribbean showers. I chose this poncho instead of packing a rain jacket because it protects our backpacks as well and takes up less space in the suitcase. Important if you are trying to pack light for your cruise.
Packing cubes – I love my ebags packing cubes. Mine are pink! One Christmas, I ordered my husband and both of our kids their own set in their own color. Why yes… I am a fun mom! ;-).
We have the ebags brand but the Amazon Basic ones have great reviews and are at a good price.
Hanging Shoe Organizer – Ok, in all honesty, I don’t take this on every cruise. It’s not necessary when we just have two people in our room. But, it is such a help for families that I wanted to include it in this list.
Some cruise lines are getting picky about the “over the door” hooks because they could scratch the paint. So, I recommend using the strong hooks and just using them on the wall if you have lighter items. I picked this updated version because it has an extra tie that attaches to the door handle to help eliminate the banging you sometimes get with the motion of the ocean.
Wrinkle Release Spray – I try to pack wrinkle-resistant items but there is always something that ends up wrinkled. I refill the travel-size Downy wrinkle release bottle from my larger one at home. Less waste.
Pop-up Hamper – We all know that cruise cabins (unless you’re splurging on the Grand Suite) are pretty small. Help keep your dirty clothes from being all over the closet floor with this fold-up hamper. We have used this inexpensive hamper on a half dozen cruises now and it’s certainly become a staple. They are so inexpensive that when we have adjoining rooms with our kids, I have them each pack one so that their clothes stay separate (less arguing).
